Plastic Surgery 101

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Have you ever thought about having plastic surgery? Do you know someone who could benefit from plastic surgery? Do you have questions and aren’t really sure where to go? Then you need to take a few moments and check out Plastic Surgery 101.
Plastic Surgery 101 fills a gap between sales only sites and those who cater to doctors with medical jargon impossible for the average person to understand. Plastic Surgery 101 uses common phrasing to answer your questions and help alleviate your fears. Their goal is to ensure you have the information you need to make a knowledgeable and informed decision.
Unlike a lot of sites their information was compiled by actual plastic surgeons, not just webmasters who regurgitated the latest statistics. Contributions were made by Beverly Hills rhinoplasty and Los Angeles plastic surgery to name just a few.
You will find useful timely information about plastic surgery procedures of a wide variety such as

Eye and facelifts
Brow lifts
Breast Reduction
Plastic surgery for men
Botox
Laser treatment
And a whole host more

So why not take a few minutes and click over. I am sure you will find what you have been looking for and if not then at least you have an excellent resource to base the remainder of your research on.

United States Flag Store

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Another offering from OnlineStores.Com that requested a site review is United States Flag Store (United-states-flag.com). According to their site they are one of the largest online flag vendors and maintain nearly 50% of the market. Impressive numbers I must admit.

Some of their offerings include:
Outdoor Flagpoles

American Flags

US Flags

I decided to approach this review as I have other OnlineStores.Com reviews and do it more from a usability or SEO setup than actual product review since I am sure other sites will amply review their products.

I am not sure if this is a failing of the Yahoo Stores or simply the site design but once again the content is stuck to the left margin while the footer and header span the entire page. A more centered setup appeals to more people since larger monitors make it difficult to scan all the way to the left to see the product. The easier it is for the customers the more likely they are to purchase products.

On a positive note the use of the “www” on all links appears to be consistent so there won’t be an issue with the search engines thinking there are two sites versus one single site. Except for the other items noted above the site flows really well and is quick considering the number of graphics pulled by each page.

There is more I would like to say about this site but the length of this particular review doesn’t permit it. If you are at all interested I suggest you pop over and take a look. I would love to hear your comments.

DesignerGifts

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

I recently received an offer to review DesignerGifts.Com and I decided to approach the review more along the lines of a SEO / suitability review versus an actual review of their products and offerings. Hopefully they will find this just as useful.

For those who might not know DesignerGifts.Com is a new offering from OnlineStores. They have a wide variety of gifts such as the ones listed below:
Cheap gifts
Digital picture frames
Gift ideas for men

Now on to the review.

The sidebar uses a mix match of colors and text links as well as icons. There needs to be more consistency. All of the sidebar headers should use the same color scheme and the links need to be either all text or all icons. If both are needed then they should be arranged in such a manner that all the text links are grouped together then all the icons are grouped after.

The Google ads usage detracts from the main page. It encourages users to click off and follow links to someone else’s site versus trying out the current site. If anything they should be used on internal pages versus the front page.

The “Free Shipping” icon needs to be bigger and use a color sheme that helps it stand out from the page versus blend in. It should attract the users attention versus being able to be quickly overlooked. Also the price for free shipping seems a bit high. On this particular site it would be hard for a new user to spend $75. Amazon has a $25 free shipping limit to encourage spending, perhaps something along those lines should be adopted?

There is more I would like to say about this site but the length of this particular review doesn’t permit it. If you are at all interested I suggest you pop over and take a look. I would love to hear your comments.

Student arrested for Clinton remarks

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

CNN is reporting that a college student was arrested for making remarks about Hilliary Clinton. Apparently not the typical ones about generalized desires to rid the world of a nemisis, instead rather specific ones. Oh and when they searched his room they found marijuana and other paraphernalia! He must be guilty! :)
